Interesting read, I think trust isn’t just about systems failing, it’s also about people changing. Communities today don’t operate with the same shared norms or long-term relationships that made older cooperative models work. Even if we rebuilt the conditions for accountability, I’m not convinced the modern individual has the same appetite for collective responsibility.

i agree. civilization as we know it is a failed system. people changing is an expected response to the failed system.

Totally true, which is why I don't think we can ever go back to the "good old days" We can only hope that wherever we are headed right now turns out to be better, or that we eventually figure it out and find ourselves in a better place. I tried so hard not to say "Transcendence" lol
